Jesse Modz: Young Broadcaster of the Year

Updated: Dec 11, 2019

A few weeks ago, we had J.J. Johnston on the podcast to give us the story and background behind Steve Young and the Alan Waters Young Broadcaster Award. This year the award goes to Jesse Modz from CJAY 92 in Calgary. In this episode, you will get to know Jesse and what it takes to win this award. He is already wise enough to realize that one will always do better lots of creative people around you.

You'll also learn that he a huge Tragically Hip fan and parlayed that passion into a radio bit that went viral last June. Jesse also makes his predictions for who will win the award in 2018.

This episode is brought to you by NLogic and their new cloud based application Lens for radio. Buyers and sellers can now transact and negotiate directly through one platform saving them significant time and potential errors - leaving more time to make money. In short - the agencies can send broadcast sales people requests for submission - and you can start creating schedules based on those campaign parameters, all within Lens. From there, you can use Lens to submit the schedule for approval and trade back and forth until you are ready to book. NLogic listens to both buyers and sellers in order to make the process go as smoothly as possible - and the latest update reflects that. Find out more by clicking on the banner.
